A new approach to design and planning

Initial designs was founded after realising the need for an alternative design service, a service which elevates the more commonly produced 2D floor plans, to allow our clients to virtually explore their finish build and make informed decisions prior to construction.

Our service improves the accuracy of the design stages and the interaction between our clients and contractors. Saving time and money on the build process by reducing the need for costly alterations, as initial designs will explore multiple options to ensure we find the most suitable design.

Alongside the production of 2D plans and elevations required for planning applications, we include 3D visualisation in all of our project. Our aim is to make this style service, which is normally associated with larger scale projects at substantial costs, accessible and affordable.

Our History

I am passionate about providing designs that fulfil my clients requirements and demonstrate how the correct use of space can improve the style of living or function within a property, developing creative and practical designs to ensure we deliver high quality finishes in a cost effective manor.

During my architectural studies at university, I realised my passion and ability to provide unique design solutions to meet detailed briefs. After transferring courses to focus in this sector, I completed my BA hons degree, studying interior design.

Seeing my first residential project through to completion, I gained the backing of the Prince's Trust and Start Up Britain to establish Initial Designs. Since the launch, Initial Designs has supported numerous commercial and residential projects ranging from feasibility studies to office planning, shopfitting and home refurbishments across the West Midlands and the UK.
